Maple Weekend @ BNHV!

Buffalo Niagara Heritage Village, 3755 Tonawanda Creek Road, Amherst, NY

Maple Weekend features a lumberjack breakfast and educational programming. Featuring maple science demonstrations provided in partnership with Reinstein Woods and a maple sugar tour covering the history of maple sugaring, led by Maple Sugar experts and the BNHV’s oxen, Jack and Flynn. This tour features hands-on, interactive stops such as a tree tapping station, a 19th century sugar arch, maple sugar making in Elliott House, and maple taffy making in the Steffen Education Building. Hay rides will also be provided (weather permitting). Museum, Farmstead (don’t forget to visit our chickens, sheep, ram, and oxen) and Historic Village will be open, with demonstrations by costumed interpreters, the Woodwrights Guild, the Blacksmiths Guild, the Quilters Guild, the Lace Guild, and the Weavers Guild. The Museum Gift Shop and Rubeck House will have locally produced maple products for purchase. Please dress for the weather and wear appropriate footwear for outdoor exploration. Menu: Pancakes, Maple Syrup, Sausage, Eggs, Fruit Cocktail, Hot and Cold Beverages Seatings: Breakfast will be served from 9:30 a.m. until noon in open seating style. Prepaying for your ticket(s) is encouraged, as it allows for ease of check-in at the Will-Call area on the day of. Please note, tables can be reserved for large parties only (8+). To reserve a table for a large party, call 716-689-1440. Tables are reserved for 9:30 a.m. only. Party must check-in by 9:45 am or table will be released to open seating. Tickets: Pancake Breakfast and Programming Tickets: Adult Ticket, $12; Child Ticket, $8 Programming Tickets: Adults and Children are $8 each for Programming ONLY. For SAMF members, programming only tickets are only $5. Programming only tickets are available for purchase at the door only. Reservations recommended. Pancake Breakfast seatings sell out fast! Walk-ins are welcome, but the SNHV cannot guarantee a seat without a reservation.
